Projects that lend themselves well to the GC approach are generally straightforward, low to medium cost projects, of relatively moderate duration. The GC method is also appropriate for owners who have experience in administering projects and who already have a contract administration procedure in place. If an owner has qualified construction supervisory personnel assigned to the project, the GC approach should work well.
Some advantages of the General Contracting approach include:
- Tightly Controlled Responsibility
- Good Cost Control
- Good Risk Control
